Lauren Nevitt is a Senior Director of Public Policy for Sunrun, the nation’s leading home solar, battery storage, and energy services company. Lauren focuses on decarbonizing the electric grid one household at a time by providing families with affordable, resilient, and reliable energy solutions that reduce energy burdens. Prior to joining Sunrun, Lauren practiced as a climate attorney. She was Senior Environmental Counsel for Sempra Energy where she counseled on efforts to facilitate the energy transition. Lauren also served as Senior Deputy District Counsel at the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and she began her career at Sidley Austin LLP as a litigation associate. She earned her juris doctorate from UCLA School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and environmental policy summa cum laude from Tufts University.
Lauren is passionate about delivering energy equity, ensuring that solutions for climate resiliency are available to all. She serves as Secretary on the SolarAPP+ Foundation’s Board of Directors, a non-profit climate software organization that is working to automate permitting and reduce costs for every clean energy appliance installed across the country - from rooftop solar, to battery storage, EV charging and electric heat pumps.
