Manuel Pineda currently serves as the Chief Electric Utility Officer for Silicon Valley Power since 2019. In his role, Manuel leads a dedicated team of 222 staff members who work tirelessly to ensure the delivery of reliable power and essential services to the City of Santa Clara. Under his guidance, Silicon Valley Power has achieved remarkable milestones, including reaching new peak sales for the last two consecutive years. Manuel is also at the forefront of Silicon Valley Power's ambitious $400 million expansion plan; a project set to double the utility's size and reinforce its commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Manuel's dedication to public service extends beyond Silicon Valley Power. From 2017 to 2023, he also served as an Assistant City Manager in Santa Clara, where his leadership skills and strategic vision continued to make a significant impact on the community.
Manuel holds a Civil Engineering degree from San Jose State University, providing him with the technical expertise to navigate the complex world of public utilities. His educational background, coupled with over 27 years of public sector experience, has uniquely positioned him as a trusted leader in the field
